Art Trade/Fun Illustration

A good friend was making resin crystals, and we worked out a trade. I would illustrate their original character in a crystal cave, and in return, I get some cool resin crystals for my Isopod tanks.

I’m breaking down the process through photos for this one. Really quite proud of the personal technical leaps I made with this. Original character Sparkbite, belongs to Shape of Metal.

Got the crystal bases laid out and the rough feeling of the illustration laid out.

I wasn’t quite finished yet. I mean, it looked mostly finished, but I needed to go over one last layer, make it iridescent and whimsical.

Mission accomplished, I’m so proud of this one.
