Career highlight

That’s a header for attention getting, eh?

I FINALLY GET TO TALK ABOUT THE THING I’VE KEPT SECRET FOR AWHILE.

a poster I created, featuring the band The Cybertronic Spree, in vaporwave style, fixing up Hot Rod’s car, with Ravage leaping through a triangle.

This luck came after I had a few posts go viral. My Vaporwave Sideswipe art sealed the deal, I received an email from the band asking if I’d be interested in working on a poster for them.

Such a cool opportunity and they were very open to suggestions, and giving constructive criticism.

Of course I was nervous as anything, I wanted badly to do my very best, and impress. About 3/4 of the way through the artwork, my brain started the imposter syndrome nonsense. It was a marathon to work through those derailing thoughts. BUT THE SATISFACTION OF BEATING MY OWN DEMONS TRUMPS EVERY DISCOMFORT I FELT.

For real. I know I can work under this kind of pressure now. I feel unbreakable. The imposter thoughts can slow my progress, but it won’t shut me down.

Feels phenomenal to talk about this finally. I feel for the freelancers under long DNAs, especially the ones that get cancelled before the project is finished. I couldn’t cope.

I hope to have many career highlights to come! And celebrate every one!
