Printer kicked the bucket. Shop update

My OfficeJet Pro 7740 printer finally kicked the dust. I’ve had it for four years, it did a few great things, but mostly really cost too much extra money in the long run and wasn't worth the hassle. The only thing I got a real kick out of was printing large tabloid size prints. But then I never got to print those much because of it’s shenanigans.

I'm glad it's done. It just happened at an inconvenient time.

I’ll never buy HP again because of their really poor business practices. The icing on the cake is the expensive ink cartridges. I bought off brand affordable, refillable ink cartridges to save money. The printer identified the off brand cartridges as fake, wouldn't print anything unless replaced with HP identifiable cartridges. Then flooded the yellow colored ink with black ink as a response to the “fake” cartridges. So. Much. Wasted. Ink over four years.

All my detailed printer settings got reset with every update, the amount of ink and paper wasted because of this money grubbing shit company-

The list is unending with my personal gripes about HP, I won't waste any more time on it.

That being said, I can't get a new printer at all this year lol. Maybe next year around tax time if things even out.

So whatever is in the shop is what's left/what's been printed & what's been able to print still. When I have an opportunity to print stuff on a friend's printer I’ll do small amounts.

I was planning on taking a shop break when I moved and to work on commissions for a bit. I don't have a choice now lol. The printer decided this outcome for me.

No idea what future printer I'll get. I know the direction I want to head in, so I'll loosely research and watch what others are using for the time being.

Maybe I'm done printing stuff, maybe it's time to do something else. I don't know. I can't afford to outsource it to a print shop.

….sigh.
