update on my shop!

Long story short, I need an online store that is next to free in it's costs. Unfortunately there is an exchange factor with monthly fees with Squarespace, that grows as the Canadian dollar shrinks. And it's just too much money monthly to run an American based e-commerce shop off my website as a disabled Canadian artist.

I still have an Etsy shop.

It seems more affordable for me to have small fees taken off each sale and only when there is a sale, than it is to pay a set fee per month with no guarrantee of sales.

In this economy, the people are struggling, and less able to buy treats for themselves than before. I am bouncing around, trying to find something that works with the tiny budget I have to run my store with.

I toy with the idea of opening a Patreon but I fear that so many artists are on it, so many of us are struggling, I don't want to add to the struggle. It's really tough to figure out which way to go. And I am well aware how one month we may have five dollars extra in our pocket, and the next month that is gone. I don't want to obligate anyone, I can't join other artist's patrons because every last dollar I have goes to my kids.

I know people want to support me without paying Etsy fees, and I think offering zines through my site is do-able. I will do a formal post on what can be bought through me on here, and what's better purchased through Etsy.

I appreciate the reading and support, always.
